A community storming/road show was held on the 21st of December 2021 to raise awareness of targeted communities (Ello, Ichogolugwu, Ogbangede, Enicha, Enungba, Abaliche and Engila) in Enungba Ward of Agatu LGA on the importance of enrolling into the Benue State health Insurance scheme. The road show was done in collaboration with the health department, the District head of Enungba Ward, the community leaders, the leaders of the various groups from the project communities as well as the CHMs trained on this project.
The road show started with a brief convergence of team members at the focal PHC in Enungba where the Executive director of OCAG addressed the team members, thereafter, the team members moved to Ello, where the sensitization proper commenced followed by Ichogolugwu, Ogbangede, Enicha, Engla, Abaliche and finally Enungba. The Director of health of authority of Agatu LGA and the OIC facilitated the stop over awareness creation while the CHMs were involved in peer-to-peer/one on one discussion and distribution of flyers.
The District head of Enugba ward who has been involved in community mobilisation and sensitization also joined the road show. At the Grand finale at the Focal PHC in Enungba, he thanked OCAG and Christian Aid for putting up this activity and emphasized the need for the community members to join the health insurance scheme.
